Cofresi
This village stretches along a soft, sandy beach and is historically famous for the treasures supposedly buried there by the pirate Roberto Cofresi, who used to prey on ships passing through the canal de la Mona, the connection to Puerto Rico.
Who knows? While vacationing, you might get lucky and dive up some Spanish coins! In Cofresi we find the fantastic Ocean World where you can swim with dolphins, feed sharks and go snorkelling around a tropical coral reef. Cofresi caters to every traveller's needs in two all inclusive hotels: the Sun Village and the Hacienda and a large selection of beautiful private villas, nestled into independent apartments.

Costambar
Costambar is happening! Only 10 minutes from the famous Dolphin swim and easy acces to the Puerto Plata airport.
This new and upcoming gated comunity, has its own nine hole golf course and two mile-long sandy beach and is started to sell big time! Step into this great opportunity! This will be the next hot spot on the North Coast! At the moment, there are 800 homes set between gently rolling hills, wide streets, palm trees and almond trees and the community consists of a pleasant mix of expats and dominicans with a laid-back pace and a very friendly atmosphere making it an ideal place to live and or retire.
The comunity has its own entrance gate with security, its own cable company, Home Owners Association which takes care of the cleaning of the beach, the streets and the garbage pick up and its own water coming from Puerto Plata. There is also a variety of international restaurants for great wining and dining and a variety of local cafes that are reasonable in price and non pretentious.
From the hilltops there are splendid views on Puerto Plata’s fortress of Christopher Columbus and the lush green mountains of the Cibao valley.and as far as Cofresi and Ocean World.
On the beach, there are several souvenir shops and on the main street a well stocked supermarket, a pharmacy, a jeweller, a fashion store and a tourist information office.

Don't wait too long before coming to visit Costambar. You will most likely fall in love with it as most of our clients have. The prices for homes are much lower than Cabarete and Sosua and the baby boomers are already moving in. So take advantage of this great oportunity.

Puerto Plata
The capital of the North Coast has a nickname:”The fiancée of the Atlantic”. This is where Christopher Columbus lowered the sails of his fleet after having stated that he had arrived in Paradise. Columbus named it the Silver Harbour and the name is still used today. Puerto Plata has kept a wonderful legacy of Victorian style wooden houses and sports a cable car that goes up to the Mountain Isabel de Torres with a peak of 800 mtrs ( 2.595 ft) towering over the city and the remains of the fortress of Columbus which can be visited in the day time.
The city has an Ocean Boulevard which is called “The Malecon” and this is probably one of the world’s largest open air discotheques because it fills up at night with little sidewalk cafe’s, each one competing with vibrating merengue and bachata music and people dancing on the streets having a great time.
With a population of around 100.000 people, it is a busy city supplying all the needs for the large hotels and tourists resorts such as several restaurants, well stocked supermarkets and hardware stores, fashion boutiques, and several private clinics. From Puerto Plata trips are easily made to Santiago( 1.15 minutes) Santo Domingo( 3 ½ hours) . The large all inclusive resort ‘Playa Dorada’ is located just 5 minutes away and the airport is at a 20 minutes' driving distance.
Sosua
A bristling and busy community perched high up on the cliffs where the waves cause some spectular scenery. A secluded bay with one of the finest beaches in the country with crystal clear shallow waters and coral reefs, abundant with tropical fish. Sosua is an ideal haven for snorkelling and scuba diving enthusiasts. The beach is lined with wooden houses in which we find souvenir shops of all sorts and restaurants serving their clients as they relax on their beach chairs.
Sosua was founded during the second world war by Jewish refugees from the Nazi regime and they turned it into to a agricultural community producing cheese, milk and a variety of meat products. Afterwards, the peaceful village got discovered by Canadian sun seekers and now it is a lively and international community where we find beautiful hotels such as the Piergiorgio Hotel with its Victorian architecture perched high up on the cliff, sporting a fantastic seafood restaurant as well as all inclusive hotels such as the Sosua Bay Hotel and the Sosua by the Sea Hotel , and several small budget apartment hotels. At night you can enjoy a great variety in entertainment,: bars, cafes and restaurants with sidewalk terraces and an overall happy and easy going nightlife.

Cabarete
Is all about kite and windsurfing all along approximately 2 miles (3 kms) of a very wide beach. A steady trade wind blows all year long. causing spectacular, high waves at times. Every year in June, Cabarete hosts one of the most prestigious windsurf competitions in the world and as a result, the resort caters mostly to trendy and young Europeans who have a great time at time, in the fashionable bars along the beach, dancing to rave or R and B music. Dining is truly Caribbean with specialty restaurants on the beach with candlelit tables and a star studded sky.
Expect to pay a bit more than in other resorts as Cabarete knows it’s hot! Real estate is also booming with apartments and villas selling like hotcakes. You can choose from a selection of apartments and villas either on the beach or in the country side such as the classy Hacienda El Choco which is a natural oasis, boasting of its own stables and tennis courts. Or choose one of the great, all inclusive hotels such as the Viva Wyndham ,the Azurro Club and/or the Punta Goleta Hotel.

Las Terrenas
This resort area is breathtaking! Situated on several of the finest stretches of soft, white sandy beaches melting into shallow, turquoise waters of the Caribbean. The best part of it all is that it is still relatively quiet, not quite yet discovered by mass tourism. The Dominican
realty team loves to go there for a weekend, when we can. We always come back relaxed and refreshed.
There are beautiful villas for rent, right on the beach. Villas such as the Casa del Tigre, smaller and family run apartment hotels such as the wonderful Oasis run by a Spanish family or the romantic Eva Luna, run by a French family. Or you can go to the all inclusive hotels Aligio Beach and the Portillo Hotel.
To get to Las Terrenas there is spectacular road through the mountains, (similar to the roads on the French Riviera) leading up from the city of Nagua, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and of the ocean in the distance. Typical Dominican picturesque wooden houses and beautiful flowers and trees dot the landscape as you take a leisurly drive towards your personal paradise.
Once arrive at the resort area of Las Terrenas, you will find many European style upscale furniture and fashion shops, and well stocked supermarkets. Saving the best for last: excellent European dining in cosy wooden restaurants on the beach, where your feet can rest in the soft sand and your appetite stimulated by some of the finest dining in the Dominican Republic. Some great excursions can be taken. For example: the “El Limon Waterfalls” on horse back, or a trip to the small island and the peninsula Samana. Water sports and snorkelling or scuba diving are abundantly available and if you are not active then just relax and enjoy the great beaches.
